Campsie Public School - School Dress Code and Uniform Policy
Purpose of the Policy:
To engender a sense of pride in belonging to Campsie Public School and contribute to student safety and comfort.
The policy reflects the views of parents, staff and students obtained through ongoing consultation and feedback. Students and parents are asked to lend their active cooperation with this policy.
Policy:
1. General
1.1 The wearing of Campsie Public School uniform is compulsory.
1.2 The selection of uniform will be based on comfort, functionality, opportunity for choice, affordability, safety and presentation.
1.3 The school uniform is the same each day. There is not a separate sports uniform. All students can wear black shorts/pants and red polo-shirt. A checked tunic is also available.
1.4 Uniforms can be purchased at Lowes (with the school logo), from the Parents & Community uniform provider and other local stores (for example: Big W – without the school logo)
1.5 All clothing is to be labelled with the student’s name. A lost property collection area will
be maintained by the school. Unclaimed articles at the end of each term that are not school uniform will be donated to local charities and unlabelled clothing, washed and sold back to the community by the Student Representative Council.
1.6 Children must be properly attired in the school uniform for all school excursions and may be required to remain at school if not.
2. Uniform Dress Code
2.1 School colours are red and black only.
2.2 Enclosed shoes must be worn (as per DEC policy), black shoes preferred. Sports shoes should be predominantly black or white.
2.3 A sun protective hat must be worn for sun-safety.
2.4 Clothing displaying logos other than the Campsie Public School emblem are not to be worn.
2.5 Any additions to the approved school uniform, e.g. scarves, beanies, hair ties must be red or black. Shirts/skivvies worn underneath school tops must be red or black.
2.6 Socks are preferred to be white, red or black. Tights and leggings are red or black.
2.7 For school sport carnival days (swimming, athletics, cross country) students are asked to wear a short-sleeved polo shirt or plain t shirt in house colours (Previously Massey now 'Buru' (Kangaroo) is yellow, previously Bryce now 'Gula' (Koala) is green, preciously Morcom now 'Wamady' (Wombat) is blue and previously Paterson now 'Dyirabidy' (Red-Belly Black Snake) is red.
2.8 There may be other uniform requirements for PSSA sport, CPS school band, choir and representative activities. Students will be advised by the relevant teachers regarding the requirements and the availability of these items.
